We started putting up corn silage today! This process starts by chopping the corn in the field. It is then brought to the silage pit by trucks where it is packed with a tractor. Packing it tightly allows for an anaerobic environment and bacteria to ferment which prevents mold and preserves the feed. Corn silage is an excellent feed source that stores really well when packed correctly.
